Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026. The German version is legally binding.

1. Overview

This website provides information about the Boulder Trainer app. We do not use advertising cookies or marketing trackers. For anonymous usage statistics we use Matomo in a cookie-free, IP-anonymized configuration (see section 4); no personal data is created in the process. All other processing takes place only as described below and in accordance with the GDPR.

2. Controller

Jan Luther App bis Web Laubestr. 52 01309 Dresden Germany E-mail: support@boulder-trainer.com

3. Hosting & server log files

This website and the servers for BT Online accounts are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich GmbH, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The servers are located in Germany; a data-processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place. When you visit the site, the provider automatically collects server log files (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type, operating system, referrer URL). This data is technically required to deliver the site securely (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in a secure, stable service) and is deleted automatically, typically after 14 days.

4. Analytics with Matomo

For anonymous statistics on how the app and website are used, we use the open-source software Matomo, which we self-host on our server in Germany (see section 3). Matomo is configured so that no cookies are set and the IP address is truncated before any storage. This means no attribution to a specific person is possible; no personal data is created and no data is transmitted to third parties. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly analytics (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

5. Contact and support

If you contact us via the app’s support function or by e-mail at support@boulder-trainer.com, we process the data you voluntarily provide (e-mail address and, if you enter it, your name) and the content of your message solely to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once your request is resolved, unless statutory retention periods apply.

6. YouTube video (two-click embed)

The product video is embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and is loaded only after you actively press play. Only then is a connection to Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) established and your IP address transmitted; Google may process data in the USA. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. See Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Language preference (localStorage)

Your language choice (EN/DE) is stored only in your browser’s localStorage. No cookie is set and nothing is transmitted to us or to third parties. You can remove it at any time via your browser settings.

8. BT Online accounts

If you create a BT Online account in the app, we process the data required to provide the service: your e-mail address and your training plans (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR — performance of contract). Providing a name is optional; if you provide it, it is stored in plaintext. Data is stored on our servers in Germany (ALL-INKL.COM, see section 3) and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time in the app, or by e-mailing support@boulder-trainer.com.

9. App Store

The download links lead to Apple’s App Store. When you follow them, Apple Inc. processes data under its own responsibility; Apple’s privacy policy applies (apple.com/legal/privacy).

10. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). To exercise your rights, write to support@boulder-trainer.com.
